*** Important notes about symposium submissions ***

The individual paper summaries should include sufficient detail to be considered as individual paper or poster presentations, if the overall symposium is not accepted

One individual should be identified as Chair of the symposium; this can be a separate individual or one of the presenters (the chair is typically the corresponding author)

A Discussant is optional, and does not “count” as one of the 3-4 presenters

The individual submitting the symposium should identify the names and contact information for the presenting authors on the "Symposia Presenters" page; details of any additional co-authors on these presentations should be listed on the "Individual Abstracts" page (note these individual abstract pages can be forwarded to the co-author(s) for them to fill out directly)

ROUND TABLE SUBMISSION

  • 100-word (maximum) Abstract; AND
  • One 250-word (maximum) Summary of the topic; this summary will be used by the reviewers to determine acceptance

The Abstract will be included in the conference program, so should provide enough information to inform attendees as to the subject matter and highlight the various perspectives that will be presented and discussed during the Round Table.

The Summary will be used by the reviewers to determine acceptance

*** Important notes about Round Table submissions ***

Given the nature of the Round Table, the participants should have recognized expertise in the subject matter (and this should be communicated in the Summary)Round Tables may or may not include formal presentations by each discussant as the goal of Round Tables is to encourage discussion and debate among the discussants as well as with attendeesSubmitting authors are encouraged to allow enough time for engaging audience members in a Q&A as part of the Round Table (typically one hour)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS

  • Attendees will be limited to a maximum of THREE (3) submissions.  This does not include co-authorship, only first authorship/presentations. Attendees can be included as co-authors on an unlimited number of submissions, but will only be able to submit a maximum of three presentations as the first, or corresponding, author.
  • Do not wait until the last minute to submit! Our submission system is new (to IAFMHS) and may be unfamiliar to many attendees. Log on early enough to ensure that your submission has been processed without any problems. Submissions can be started and later revised, but will not be complete until they are “finalized”. You will receive an electronic confirmation as soon as your submission is complete.
  • Questions? Please direct all inquiries about submissions to 2017conference@iafmhs.org
